Peyote stitch pen pattern 7

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy studying and working, once I am on holidays I will have more time to make things and post things!

Here is something I have been working on for a while, hopeing to finish it soon, so I haven't posted the whole image yet. It is my favourit pattern to make, and not as easy as it looks at first. It is basicaly little flower going round the pen, I have made it lavender and white before, which also looked really pretty!

I tried to zoom in, to show you what it looks like close up!!

Crystal Necklace

This is a crystal necklace that I made using and old necklace my Nanna gave me. The crystals she gave me are very good quality, but when I received the necklace the metal eye pins between them has rusted over. So I cleaned the crystal beads and restrung them with colours between them. The blue and green crystals are old ones I had at home, and are not very good quality, so I am going to clean and re-string the crystals again, without the colour between them, or with smaller clear crystal between them. My Aim is to find real silver eye pins, so they don't rust again.

Hopefully I will be able to show you the finished product!

Do you like it?

Lampwork glass beads

I really love lampwork glass beads. So I decided to show some of the ones I have bought over the years that I really love. As you can see they come in a range of colours and shapes. My personal favourite are the rose buds, they cost me a fortune and I haven't found something worthy to make them into yet.

Crystal Bracelets

I have also made some bracelets using the swarovski crystal elements. I use a wooden bangle and decorate them how ever I please. On these two I have covered them completely and used ribbon, but I hope in the future to incorporate lace and glitter into them to make some thing a bit different.

The purple one is 100% finished, but the blue one I am still not sure about, I am considering painting the white part blue or buying smaller crystals to fill the gaps.

Here they are:

What do you think?

Tubular payote stitch flat patterns

To help show you the patterns that I make so that you too may be able to make them, I am making the flat version in paint to show you. So far I have made 3, the first 3 pen designs that I have posted in the blog.

There will be more to come!!

Peyote stitch pen pattern 6

This is one I made yesturday. It is a ziz zag pattern, it's a tiny bit hard to see because of the colour of beads I used. It also has a matte finish instead of a glossy one because of the finish on the beads. I find that using beads that are made the same(e.g. silver lined, clear ect.) make the piece look more effective. Although mixing it up works well also!

Peyote stitch bracelet

Here is a picture of two peyote stitch bracelet's I have made using a triangle pattern. I love the triangle pattern because it is pretty and effective, a good pattern to start with if you are new to peyote stitch. The smaller one is 6 beads in width, and the larger one is 10 beads in width. I always use even count of beads when doing the peyote stitch, I find doing an odd count just unnecessary and not worth the effort.

Please note the bottom one is a bit rough, because I made it when I was still getting use to peyote stitch, the top one is a lot tighter and there is no small gaps.

John-James Pebble needles

The best beading needle I have found to use are the John-James pebble beading needles. I have pretty rough with needles, forcing them through small holes and gaps, and 9 time out of 10 my needles are warped after the first use. But they last, and I don't blame them when the finally do break because of what I put them through. Not to mention the little 'pebble' they come in is so cute and handy to store, no needle running all over the place!!

Peyote stitch pen pattern 5

Here is another pen I have made using the tubular peyote stitch. It's even more simple then any other pattern I have done previously.

Bejeweler Pro down under

I have show some masks that I have mad using flat back swarovski crystals. But the best thing to use is hotfix crystals, because then you can use a bejeweler pro to stick them on for you! I bought one a couple of months ago and now there is no turing back! I love it!

Peyote stitch pen pattern 4

This is also one of the first ones I made. Its a really simple patterns, just alternate colours for each row. You can only two this patterns because of the 22 beads that go around, any more then 2 colours and the pattern would be even.

Here it is:

Peyote stitch pen pattern 3

This was the first tubular peyote stitch pen that I ever made. It uses 11 different colours going in a spiral direction. The reason it uses 11 different colours is that there is 22 beads that go around the pen. So if I want that patterns to make the spiral pattern(e.g. make sure the lines meet up) I can only use 11 or 2 colours. Hope that makes sense.

Here it is:

Beaded Beads

Using the peyote stitch I also like to make beads. I do a very small flat peyote stitch and sew the two ends together to make a bead. The beads below are make with miyuki beads for them because they give a more even result, but you could use any type of small seed bead. They are 6x6 beads. They are great for making braclets and necklaces.

Here are some I have made:

Last year I mentioned my love for Swarovski crystal elements. In the past year I have made two masquerade masks using them. They ar every special to me and I love looking at them because they are so pretty. I had previously made masqurade masks, but not using the crystals.

Here they are:

I hope you like them!!

Peyote Stitch pen pattern 2

Here is another pen pattern I have made:
This pattern is alot for complicated then the previous one I showed. It looks really good in red/orange/yellow, but I gave that one away and a pressent.

Here is a close up of the pattern:

Peyote stitch pen pattern

This picture here is of a design I have made. Its a very simple pattern and easy to follow. Hopefully soon I will be able to post picture of the patterns to help people to make them. If I haven't mentioned it before I use a Bic round stick pen, beading needle, all purpose gutermann thread, and miyuki size 11 seed beads.

And here is a close up of the pattern, to give you a better look at the pattern:
